In an industry that is constantly looking for the next big thing, it’s fair to say that nothing is currently capturing the imagination more than wearable technology.
Once the realm of science fiction, wearable technology is fast becoming big business with the likes of Google, Samsung, Sony, and (rumours have it) Apple all designing gadgets that will improve our lives – or at least make them easier.
We decided to take a look at this massively emerging and exciting arena, and highlight some of the exciting pieces you should know about.
Google Glass
Easily the most well known piece of wearable technology so far. Announced in 2013, Google’s Android-powered augmented reality headset has captured the imaginations of people all over the world, and is rumored to be released to the general public sometime this year. The lightweight headset will feature a small screen that will display information such as messages, emails and Google Maps, as well as a camera to take photos and videos. The device will respond to voice commands, but will also feature a touchpad on one of the arms in case you don’t want to look crazy talking to yourself in the street.
